Sarah Corynen (°1970) studied fashion design at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, Belgium. After she graduated she produced her own fashion label, which was popular in Japan, Hong Kong, France, Italy, USA... After the withdrawal of her financier, in 1998, she became an assistant for the Antwerp designer Walter Van Beirendonck and for 3 years she directed a Japanese Knitwear brand, based in Tokyo (Narumiya Company). Between 2001 and 2007 she has been teaching at the Academy of Ghent in Belgium (KASK) and at the Designskolen Kolding in Denmark.

In 2009 she started a handmade knitwear collection for men and women, and after the birth of her son Isaac in 2011 she added some styles for children as well. All the knitwear pieces were made to order, finished by hand and only available in small quantities. From december 2012 onwards a selection of styles was available at the Comme des Garçons store Trading Museum in Tokyo, Japan.

In addition to the knitwear she started focusing on her drawings and graphic artworks combining different media such as black indian ink, colored markers, cardboard, print, moving image, collages etc...

Sarah started her own creative studio in February 2014 and showed her drawings for the first time in Première Vision Paris. Also for home & interior customers she is presenting her flat surface patterns and original drawings (during Heimtextil Frankfurt and  Indigo Brussels). She has built a worldwide clientele over Europe, Canada, USA, China & Japan.

Sarah Corynen lives and works in Belgium.
