Reintje Jacobs (1992) is an Architect (on a break), based in Ghent, Belgium. The works she selected for Muro are actually linographs and are definitely inspired by her architecture education and her love of bold colors. Reintje uses a set of handmade stamps which she can combine endlessly to create these geometrical shapes. In one of the works, she added chairs to give the shapes a more human scale. They add a bit of humor and context to the otherwise contextless geometry. The chairs are a returning element in her work, somehow. She doesn’t really remember when or why she started drawing them, but she grew very fond of them. Reintje selected these particular works so they can be hung separately or be combined next to each-other in various ways. We hope they will brighten your day!
