Reintje is a multidisciplinary artist and designer currently living in Ghent. Her work covers a diverse range of fields, from lino-prints and ceramics to furniture design and small-scale architectural projects.
As a former architect, her art is strongly influenced by the colours and shapes of the modernist and post modernist movements of the 20th century. She is inspired by artists like Alexander Calder and Dubuffet, and by the diverse work of architect Lina Bo Bardi. Bold colours, humour and an appreciation for the imperfect and the playful are themes that run throughout her work.
Other themes that fascinate her are the ocean, remote islands and all things botanical. These subjects make an occasional appearance in her art as well.
