Alexia Janssens lives and works in Bruges. She graduated from the Luca School of Arts in Ghent in 2019. By day, she is a graphic designer, and in her free time, she draws, paints, and has recently taken up various printing techniques. She expresses herself through her figurative art. With pen and pencil, she tries to capture the invisible. She depicts the banality of everyday life and combines it with a touch of abstraction. Alexia challenges the viewer to discover the deeper meaning in her work.
About the work:
'Shameless' depicts a slice of life by the seaside. Many troublemakers and chip thieves. Alexia deliberately chose a spontaneous and raw way of working. She conveys the sense of unease brought by the seagulls on the promenade.
